ILOCOS' FESTIVITY


Tan-Ok ni Ilocano, A Variegated Showcase of Ilocos' Cultures


 
    Tan_ok Ni Ilocoano: The Festivals of Festivals is Ilocos Norte's grandest festival which features the showcasing of different festivities of all the municipalities and cities of the province celebrated in the end of the year. this festival aims to promote tourism and mold a treasured tradition at the same time. The festival was activated last November 2011 under the administration of the Governor Imee R. Marcos.

    Tan-ok ni Ilocano Festival is indeed a great reflection of the Ilocanos. Its signifies a long lived culture cherished in a span of years. Indeed, it caries the reality about the province' creativity which boosts Ilocano's sense of unity and pride. Contingents from different places present breathtaking performances which is really pleasing. The showcase displays the greatness of every Ilocano as it embody the heavenly features of each town.

    The contingents include the municipalities of Adams which portrays the RAMBAK TI ARAK KEN SAPLID FESTIVAL,

Bacarra- BAC-BACARRA FESTIVAL,

Badoc-BADO BADOC FESTIVAL,

Bangui AMIAN FESTIVAL,

Banna- PANAG-ABUOS FESTIVAL,

Burgos- SANIATA FESTIVAL,

Carasi- MAGDADARAN TALIP FESTIVAL,

Currimao- DINAKLISAN FESTIVAL,

Dingras- ANI FESTIVAL,

Dumalneg- PANAGWAWAGI,

Marcos- MANNALON FESTIVAL,

Nueva Era- TADEK FESTIVAL,

Pagudpud- KURARAPNIT FESTIVAL,

Paoay- GULING-GULING FESTIVAL,

Pasuquin- PANAGSANA FESTIVAL,

Piddig- BASI FESTIVAL,

Pinili- BAWANG FESTIVAL,

San Nicolas- DAMILI FESTIVAL,

Sarrat- BINAKOL FESTIVAL,

Solsona- GAMENG FESTIVAL, and

Vintar- TALUGADING TI SIWAWER FESTIVAL.

The festival also includes the cities of Laoag- PAMULINAWEN FESTIVAL and

Batac- EMPANADA FESTIVAL.

    These twenty-one(21) municipalities and two(2) cities convene together in one stage to perform and carry the exceptional names of their originating places. Though the are competitors competing with one another during the festivity, they still stand firm as united as they move forward as Ilocanos and show the world the province' greatness.

    As of now, Tan-ok Ni Ilocano have gone three years of exposition and this beginning will go further and bacome a cherished culture and tradition in the upcoming generations of the Ilocanos as a whole.
